My Shadow and Its Shower is a video installation piece, designed specifically to be projected in the space where it was filmed. Inspired by the idea of using projection as a means to make something ‘alive’, or bring movement to inanimate objects or spaces. The concept was to use an empty space where an everyday routine is performed, and project what would be happening in that space if someone was there. The title of the piece reflects that absence of actual reality; as well as the lack of vulnerability and intimacy when a person is only viewed as a 2D form. I am not in that video of my projection, what's occupying my shower is merely a shadow from projection.
